This book presents Peter Cook's architecture on paper from the 1960s to the present day. Cook has written texts for all the projects himself. In his own words, the drawings are always a kind of notes on an architectural theme, and the drawing technique depends on the idea he is investigating. The drawings move from the classical drawings of architecture towards more poetic visions.

English Sir Peter Cook (b. 1936) is a legend in the field of experimental urban planning. In 1960, he founded Archigram, a group of young architects who, with the magazine of the same name, challenged the architectural ideas of the time. They are based on current trends such as Space Age, prefabricated building elements and information technology, just as they draw inspiration from contemporary pop culture and from artists such as Roy Lichtenstein. Through collage and drawing, they explore new ways of building cities that have shaped the architecture of posterity.

From the 1960s until today, Cook has been involved with cities. In particular, he has been interested in how cities change: Houses, bridges, cranes and roads occupy landscapes, and city plans are taken over by vegetation in a kind of utopian realism. The drawings are in realistic scale and relate to real places such as Berlin, Houston and Tuscany. In the later part of his career, Cook will build a number of buildings, including Kunsthaus Graz in Austria with Spacelab Cook-Fournier. Most famous, however, is Cook as a theorist, teacher, author and draftsman.

Catalog published in connection with the exhibition 'Peter Cook - City Landscapes'.
