LB 13 School Birwil is the fifth of five titles ffrom the ‘Long Book’ series featuring designs by the Brandenberger Kloter Architects.
Inviting readers to engage with the relevance and function of public buildings, it questions existing structures to find answers for the contemporary design of public buildings. This volume begins with an interview conducted and written by Niki Zaugg, with author Zoë Jenny, and includes comments from Oliver Brandenberger and Adrian Kloter, and images by Basile Born. A special feature of School Birrwil is the additional niches above the classrooms, which can be accessed through a ladder and a circular opening, reminiscent of a ship's berths.
