On the island Herrön was this guest house built for a master carpenter
This building monograph depicts a small summer house designed by the highly respected but hitherto scarcely researched architect Axel Kandell (1916—2003). Located in the southern part of the Stockholmv Archipelago, the ‘Master Carpenter’s Cabin’ captures the essence of Kandells limited but meticulously elaborated architectural oeuvre. The book includes an essay by Johan Örn which explores the history, the context and the aesthetics of the cabin.
The book is beautifully illustrated with original drawings by Axel Kandell and photographs by the distinguished Swedish photographer Pål-Nils Nilsson.
