Sampling architects published this publication for which they wrote an essay about their architecture conversations. This is accompanied by a photographic story of a project they recently completed: House61, which was nominated by the Latvian Architecture Prize 2021 and has generated a lot of interest among fellow architects in Europe.
Sampling is an architecture and design practice founded in 2010 and led by Manten Devriendt and Liene Jākobsone. The project of House 61 - a single-family dwelling - prompted Sampling to share some experiences and insights that they have accumulated since the founding of the studio. This book reflects on our perspective toward thinking, learning, and designing. It uses House 61 as a case study through which certain facets of our approach toward architecture are revealed.
Edited and written by Liene Jākobsone, with contributions by Evelina Ozola, Ott Alver and Laurynas Avyžius, designed by Sampling, photos by Madara Gritāne, Karlina Vitolina, Manten Devriendt, Ēriks Božis.
