With this book David Chipperfield for the first time presents a comprehensive monograph illustrating 45 buildings, for which he developed the concept as well as the layout together with ingenious graphic artist John Morgan.
In the first part of the publication he states his 'confessions' as an architect. After an introduction to Chipperfield's work by Fulvio Irace he explains his convictions in chapters called 'Context", Building Form', 'Interiors', 'Private House' and 'Developing ideas'.
The second part of the volume focusses on the most important 30 realized projects which were selected by the architect on more than 160 pages with numerous full and double page illustrations and texts for each project.
In the last section the monograph also comprises other projects - built and unbuilt, offering a comprehensive overview of the output of the last 25 years. The last section covers almost all the projects, types and scales.
