In its fifth issue, Aires Mateus profiles five of their projects in Portugal’s Alentejo region; the “Gerswalde Ecology” is articulated by Atelier Fanelsa and Zara Pfeifer by exploring community life, production, and architecture in rural Germany; Atelier Bow-Wow, together with Tsukamoto Laboratory and Small Earth Association, present a detailed documentation of their work for the Satoyama Revitalization; Christ & Gantenbein introduce a new gateway to the industrial campus of chocolate giant Lindt & Sprüngli; and a new public space is generated by Barozzi Veiga on top of Tanzhaus Zürich.
