Published to coincide with the What Design Can Do Live Amsterdam 2016 conference, this book presents a selection of 31 design projects that have the potential to change Africa and inspire the world. Right now many African nations are experiencing an economic upturn, which itself has triggered a surge in cultural production. The evolving identity of the continent can thus provide a mirror for us to view the identity issues facing Europe in new ways. The selected projects of varying scales come from fifteen different countries, from Morocco to South Africa, and from Uganda to Ghana, and represent the entire design spectrum, offering fresh perspectives on topical discussions.
